Matthew 25 AIDS Services is a non-profit healthcare clinic that specializes in the treatment of HIV/AIDS. We believe that nobody should face these diseases alone. Matthew 25 AIDS Services exists for the sole purposes of providing high quality services for those affected by HIV/AIDS. The successful candidate will share Matthew 25 AIDS Services, Inc.’s commitment to its mission, to support, educate, and treat those infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.


The Health Educator will promote HIV/AIDS education through community events and in small group settings, and performs counseling and testing services. The Health Educator must also perform a set of educational activities to assists clients on how to reduce to risk of HIV infection. These activities include: individual HIV prevention, using treatment as prevention (PrEP for clients and partners), group intervention, education of basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions, education about treatment adherence and education on health coverage options.


  • Health educators must have a high school diploma or GED and must be able to show proof. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in public health or other relevant field preferred.
  • At least one year experience working with HIV infected individuals, substance abuse populations or socially, ethnically and economically diverse populations.
  • Having experience in behavior change theories would be highly valued but not required if teachable.
  • Must complete minimum training requirements in the following areas within their agency probationary period as required and directed by the Ryan White Part B program: prevention and clinical issues, and insurance availability.
  • Must be trained and knowledgeable about HIV/AIDS, the affected communities, and available resources. Training specific to outreach activities should include: HIV/AIDS counseling, referral to medical care, personal safety, adherence counseling, non-violent crisis intervention, cultural diversity and psychological issues specific to HIV/AIDS.
  • Must have appropriate skills, relevant experience, cultural and linguistic competency, and relevant licensure to provide services and/or care to people living with HIV.
  • Must be available to work a flexible schedule as needed to meet the needs of the testing schedule.
  • Health Educator must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Working knowledge of HIV/AIDS and STD’s.
  • Proven ability to work with and maintain confidential and sensitive client information.
  • Experience working with diverse sexual/gender orientations, the homeless, substance users, and multiple-diagnosed individuals.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently and within a team.
